- Please let me (Matt) know if your son is interested in trying out for the travel team by May 28th.
- Please send me any questions, etc. (via e-mail or see me after a game) and I'll coordinate with the Commissioner.
- You must attend the evaluation clinic. It is on Sunday June 6th from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Little Boyce Field.
- The highest evaluated players will be chosen for the teams, but this does not mean it will be limited to 8-year-olds. Seven-year-olds are also eligible.
- You MUST be willing to make the commitment to attend all practices and games from the end of June through the end of July. There isn't much latitude for exception there.
From my perspective, it's a great opportunity to continue to play baseball if your son enjoys it that much. It's also a good way to start the transition to the Minor Leagues (9-10 year-olds) where they do introduce more competitive elements and keep score. Please do be mindful of the time commitments, however. They aren't kidding when they say they expect you at every practice and game, and things will wrap up with a week or so before football and soccer.
If you can make this commitment, we most definitely have a number of 8-year-olds and even a few 7-year-olds that I'm confident would do very well in the travel leagues.
